Return to overviewSession Refresher
A concise return-to-play guide. Use what helps and ignore what you already know.
Before the session
- Review the last recap and any unresolved questions.
- Check your character’s current state, resources, and active quests.
- Read only the knowledge currently revealed to you.
- Bring one intention or question; you do not need a complete plan.
During the session
- Describe what you want to accomplish before worrying about exact rules.
- Ask what your character would reasonably know.
- Keep notes private, share with the party, or respond to a passed GM note deliberately.
- Pause when the table needs clarification, comfort, or a shared understanding of the scene.
After the session
- Record meaningful character and world changes.
- Capture discoveries, promises, new questions, and unfinished threats.
- Write a private reaction or share what your character tells the party.
- Leave uncertain material uncertain; the campaign record does not have to flatten interpretation.
Explore offers context, not requirements. Return whenever a concept needs refreshing.
